The short version
- Comped helps you find and use your card perks. It's information, not financial advice.
- Card issuers set and change the rules. Check their terms before you book.
- Comped Plus is a subscription through Apple. Cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.
These terms are an agreement between you and Comped (“Comped”, “we”, “us”) for the Comped iPhone app, the Comped Plus subscription and getcomped.app (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What Comped does
Comped helps you keep track of the benefits that come with credit cards you choose in the app, such as statement credits, hotel programs, lounge access and other perks. Ask Comped uses artificial intelligence to answer questions about those benefits and suggest ways to use them.
Comped is independent. It isn't a bank, card issuer, travel agent or financial adviser, and it isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any card issuer, hotel or merchant. Card and program names are trademarks of their owners.
2. Information, not advice
- Benefit details come from public sources and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Issuers change terms, amounts, eligible merchants, enrollment steps and deadlines, sometimes without notice.
- Balances in Comped are based on what you record in the app. Comped can't see your card account, so it doesn't know what your issuer has actually credited.
- Ask Comped answers are generated by AI and can be mistaken. Comped doesn't see live hotel rates or availability and can't book anything for you.
- Before you rely on a benefit, check your card issuer's terms and your account. Whether a purchase earns a credit is decided by your issuer, not by Comped.
Nothing in the Service is financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to apply for, keep or cancel any card.
3. Comped Plus subscription
- Comped Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store, offered weekly or yearly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
- New subscribers may get a free trial. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and Apple charges your account.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. We can't issue refunds directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Ask Comped includes a daily question limit for fair use. We may adjust features and limits to keep the Service running well.
4. Your use of the Service
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to deceive a card issuer, merchant or anyone else;
- copy, resell, scrape or reverse engineer the Service or its data, or access it other than through the app;
- interfere with the Service, get around its limits or security, or overload our servers;
- use Ask Comped to produce content that is harmful, abusive or unrelated to its purpose at scale.
You're responsible for your device, your Apple ID and the information you put into the app.
5. Our rights
The Service, including its design, text, data compilations and software, belongs to Comped and its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and the App Store's Usage Rules. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms.
6. Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering the Service. We'll try to give notice of significant changes in the app. The Service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that any benefit, credit, hotel rate or perk will be available or will apply to your purchase.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Comped won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost credits, missed benefits, travel costs, fees or charges from issuers or merchants. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid for Comped Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and Comped, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you aren't in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.
